Tim Keener has been involved in the development and management of special events for more than 25 years.
Born in Charleston, West Virgina, Keener graduated from West Virginia University’s Sport Management Program in 1988. Keener started his sports management career in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he spent the next twelve years working for Raycom Sports and ESPN Regional. Keener was involved in the creation, operation and management of collegiate basketball tournaments and the inaugural Blockbuster Bowl, a post-season bowl game held in Miami. While at ESPN, Keener was also responsible for the oversight of 200+ collegiate basketball production budgets for the Big East, Big Ten and Big 12 Conferences.
In 2001, Keener relocated to Las Vegas and began his career with Las Vegas Events as Director of Event & Ticket Operations. Keener was promoted to Vice President of Event and Ticketing Operations in 2009. During his tenure at LVE, Keener has been involved in contract management, event development, event and ticket operations, budget analysis and sponsor sales and fulfillment. Keener’s department manages event and ticket operations for the National Finals Rodeo, America’s Party Fireworks Show, NASCAR Champions Week, Pac-12 Conference Basketball Tournament and the USA Basketball Challenge. Keener has served as the Event Director for the FEI World Cup Finals of Jumping and Dressage on five occasions.
Keener volunteers his time within the Las Vegas community by serving on the Executive Board for the Simon Keith Foundation and coordinating the Grant A Gift Autism Foundation annual dinner.
